#reverbbroads11 – Guilty until proven innocent…

Name and explain the one guilty pleasure you can’t live without. ie: that cupcake shop you visit weekly, a book you repeatedly read to find solace in, etc). Then explore the idea of how you would feel if you gave that thing up for a year.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m more of a pleasure-filler than I should be.  I’ll also be the first to admit that there’s little I feel guilty about…

Well, I do feel guilty when we spend too much money on eating out.  My hubby and I have pretty exotic tastes, and we do love to go out to nice restaurants and stuff ourselves on delectable morsels.  However, since we have ceased to be a two computer-geek income household, we’ve had to curb our dining out habits and resort to more eating at home.  This ultimately has been a good thing, since it forced me to learn how to cook (thank you America’s Test Kitchen & Cook’s Illustrated).  Actually, a fair amount of the yummies I cook are better than eating out, so that’s a plus.  But the one thing that can’t be replicated and will ALWAYS be my uber favorite of favorite restaurants is The Melting Pot. O.M.G… there is nothing more heavenly than their fondue courses;  Cheese, Meats, Chocolates.  Oh, and there’s a salad in there too.  We even adore their Garlic & Wine Seasoning to put on buttered popcorn, another yummy that I’m sure I will never go without.  Nope, won’t happen.  I’ll live on home-popped butter popcorn if that’s all I can afford.  Yeah, I’m weird…

Hungry yet?

I’m sure I could “live” without Melting Pot, but it would be a sadder life.  We tend to go about twice a year, once for our anniversary, and some other time of the year (usually because we’re out of Garlic & Wine Seasoning.  “What?  Out of Seasoning?  Well then we must go have dinner and get more!”).  It’s definitely not a place to go if you’re on a tight budget for a casual evening meal, because it’s quite pricey.  But it is soooooo worth it for special occasions.  It’s a really nice place to unwind as well, and they even have a kids day on Sundays, can’t beat that!
