Stuff and stuff and stuff…

We haven’t had a baby update in a while. šŸ™‚

Ronan is doing quite well. He’ll have his 1st birthday next month (has it been a year already???), and we’re debating what we want to do for that. I’d like to have something at the house for friends and such, but I’m afraid our rec room is still out of commission. With all the wet weather we’ve had this winter, our leaky wall is causing major headaches, and making it stink horribly down there. šŸ™ Perhaps we’ll have a dinner at Red Robin or something…

He’s gotten his 3rd tooth (top left), which was a bit of a bear coming in, poor little guy. Tonight he fed himself (crackers) for the first time. Amazingly enough, we have a kid that doesn’t really put things in his mouth. It’s taken quite a while to get him to put food in there. Now that he knows, I hope he knows the difference between putting food in there and putting other things in there (like cat food).

He also seems to know how to say “kitty”, or rather “key key” whenever there’s a kitty nearby. It’s the first time I’ve really seen him associate a sound with an object, and it’s quite cute watching him crawl around the house saying “Key key” to all the kitties as they walk by. šŸ™‚

He’s starting to stand on his own now, but only for short moments. Once he realizes that he’s standing without support, he plops onto his butt with a bewildered look on his face. He’s also crawling on all fours now. Poor kid has rug burns on both knees from tearing around the house like a holy terror. šŸ˜‰

I can’t believe how big he is already. Damn, they grow fast… Here’s a pic of him over Xmas. He had fun (and we had fun decorating him!)

And for a kitty update… I took Whiskey to the vet last week to have his kidney levels checked since his seizure, and the vet said they’re looking very good. They’re on the high side of normal, but at least they’re in the normal range, which they weren’t before. So it looks like the food has been helping, and he doesn’t need to start fluids yet. Yay!
