Yeah, I’m around, sorta…

Work has just been madness the last two weeks. Normally this wouldn’t bother me so much, since we often have busy times where things are kinda crazy. But this sudden surge was caused my nothing more than a particular coworker taking vacation for most of the month and not bothering to have any of his projects up to date so others could easily complete. Basically he dumped about two months of work on the rest of us, all projects that had to be completed by the end of the year. I got two of his largest projects, and it’s seriously sucked time away from my home and family at an extremely busy time of year. Personally, I feel my boss shoulda never let him take that much vacation without requiring he have his shit together before he left. Yes, I’m bitter…

On top of this, people have been out sick with all the bugs going around. I refuse to go into the office until the plagues have passed. No way am I risking ruining Ronan’s first Christmas (not that we couldn’t get something somewhere else, but why increase the chances, right?).

As for Ronan, it seems like he’s growing up so quickly… He can sit up on his own now and get that way whenever he wants, and he can pull himself up to standing on occasion. He waves bye bye, plays paddy-cake & peek-a-boo. He’s such a smart cookie. πŸ™‚

So we ordered a stove, and it should be here on Saturday. I say “should”, since we bought it from Sears. Yes, I know, I’m a gluten for punishment… But they had the best prices for what he wanted, and unfortunately money is a large factor. Guess we’ll see…

Not much else besides work going on these days. I took the evening off to do some cleaning around the house. The cat box in our bedroom was so stinky, there was no way I could sleep in there unless it got cleaned. I feel like I’ve got a gazillion things to do before Xmas. Parts of the house still need some good scrub time, got presents to wrap yet, finances to figure out, change the oil in my car, laundry, find my turkey recipe, groceries, the list goes on. I don’t know how single working mothers do it, I’m in awe of them. I’m not sure if I’ll get any Xmas cards out this year. So if you don’t see anything from me, please don’t be offended, I’m just up to my eyeballs with life.

So far I’m not feeling like this is a very golly holiday season, but maybe that’ll change once the weekend gets here.
