For the first time I know what it’s like to regret not having done something earlier…

A close friend’s brother has been dying for cancer for a few months now. About a week ago he took a turn for the worse, and the doctors gave him a couple months to live. This is a person I knew well in high school, and his sister has been one of my closest friends for over 20 years. When I first got news from my friend that he was going downhill, I decided I was going to send something (balloons or something cheerful) to him to let him know we’re thinking of him and his family. But, because of my lack of financial skills, I didn’t have the money to send what I wanted, so I figured I would wait until my next check. He died on Sunday…

I’m not happy with myself right now…

There’s always a little something more we wanted to do. At least he was in your thoughts.

*hug* Do what you can. Honor his memory. Maybe donate the money you would have spent on flowers to a cancer research program. Or drop some flowers by his grave sight. Most importantly, forgive yourself. You are a very special person.
